There has been 80 rooms blocked off for our people with more available when these are filled. It is my understanding that there are some 20 rooms per floor and that rooms will be filled, lower floors first, good reason to make reservations early.

We negotiated a price of $84 per day (plus 5% sales tax and 7% occupancy tax) for the rooms. These rooms and the price will be held until April 15th, 2005.

Rooms reserved after April 15th, will be a cost of $89.00. Each individual/party is responsible for making their own room reservations.

Reunion room rates will be valid for anyone wanting to arrive before or stay after the reunion for extended vacation, etc.

Attendees should make sure they say they are with the EC-47 Association reunion and request the $84 rate. This is particularly important for those wishing to arrive before and/or stay after the reunion.

The reservation number is 410-712-4300. Any reservations agent should be able to help. Just make sure you say you are with the EC-47 reunion and get the $84 rate. The Hotel Room Contact is Ms Tanya Bean if there is a question.

The dinner will be a buffet with beef, chicken, and seafood entrees. John is going to work with the caterer to develop the exact entrees, but we expect all appetizers and deserts to be of a relatively standard nature.

Currently planning for 300 guests.

The farewell breakfast will also be a buffet similar to the one in Dayton.

The Hotel provides a FREE continental Breakfast between 4:30 and 6:30 AM.
There is also the Key West Restaruant, located across the Lobby in the Hotel.

Accomodations for folks who must bring their pet are available
nearby at the Red Roof Inn, Contact Rick Yeh at:

20:30 - Crab Fest Friday evening,

To get on the List for the Crab Fest, Contact Rich Yeh at [email protected]

Just got out the menu for the crab feast from Dave, so I'm forwarding it to you for distribution to the association. We need to start getting some better head counts than we have, so please have people respond to me with their desire to attend the crab feast. The cost will be $20 per head, plus the cash bar, but like Dave said, the drinks are really cheap!!! Thanks. Rick

Crabs, Hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ Chicken, beans by Mace, Potato salad, cole slaw, cake, cookies, chips, pretzels, and assorted condiments. It's all you can eat until the food is gone. We have entertainment by Mr Bob Wight who is a well known in acoustics and singing. The drinks wether alcohol or soda is dirt cheap and The VFW is only asking for a donation not a set price. People would pay more than $20 for what they're are getting.

The VFW club has plenty of room. I'm assuming most will be coming by bus. I'll be taking care of food arrangements. The VFW will have beer, liquor and sodas and I'll have one or two of my barmaids acting as cocktail waitresses. I plan on crabs, potato salad, hot dogs, hamburgers, coleslaw, chips and some assorted stuff. I will also have some entertainment. It will be a cash bar for all drinks. The prices at the VFW are really super low and they are really happy to have us. I plan on it being a comfortable & casual evening where everyone can relax and eat and be merry.

More info this week with a good address and the like. Mace

Added May 3rd, 2005

Hi Rick, I think our regular tour activity at Air and Space can handle any of the reunion people wishing for a tour Friday or Saturday, the 20th or 21st.Guaranteed highlight tours are at 1030 and 1300. If the group is large enough, the tours are split into smaller groups. Average time for the tour is 90 minutes. There is a bus shuttle for those who wish to visit the Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles for $12 round trip (seniors $11, groups of 6-7 $10.) The bus leaves from the Air and Space Museum at 0900 and every 90 minutes thereafter. Tours there are available about every 30 minutes.

For those troops interested in a big tour of the Mall, I recommend the Tourmobile Sightseeing tour. For $20 you can get on and off all day, 0930 to 1630, as it drives by the museums and memorials on the Mall and Arlington Cemetery. The buses stop at many places, including the Air and Space Museum, about every 15 minutes.

I won't be able to make the banquet. Call me if you need further clarification, 703-780-3999. Best regards,

Bud
