Steve says his tour was at NKP, got diverted from Da Nang, March 73 to Jan 74. I was a 207X1, Morse Ops fresh from a tour a RAF Chicksands. I worked in crew scheduling and was the Squadron Historian while I was there. Wrote the historical account on Baron 52 for the squadron. Other than that, it was pretty routine. By the way, you haven't got an address on either Ron Regini or Art Bailey do you? Art and I were room mates. He was a linguist. Ron and I went on to RC-135s at Offutt when we left NKP.

June 1970 to August 1970 Da Nang My Comments:I was moved to Siagon and then to Phu Cat after August. I remember very litle about the people in the squadron but do remember working on an aircraft named Lead Zepplin and one named Iron Butterfly.

Gerry says, I spent nearly all of my four years at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. However, I did spend about 5 months in NKP Thailand and flew EC-47's as a back-ender. I was trained at the Presidio of Monterey, California and after at Goodfellow as a Thai Language specailist.

Bill was Chief of Maintenance with the 6994th Security Squadron at Tan Son Nhut in 1972/73 and had responsibility ( with a lot of help) for "back-end" maintenance at TSN, NKP and Da Nang. John says he was OIC, DrillPress/Hawkeye and OPS Officer with the 360th Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron at Tan Son Nhut. His tour dates were from December, 1965 to December, 1966.

Continues, I arrived in RVN on Christmas Eve, 1965. I was a senior Major and assumed OIC, Drillpress. When the 360th was formed, I was the operations officer. Along with the Hawkeye Troops we traind the incoming front end personnel in the Phyliss Ann aircraft. Flew over 200 missions and 1,000 hours in RVN. After the tour, I was sent to Langley AFB and was promoted to Col. in 1969 and sent to USAF Security Service. Later Commander 6910th Security Group 1971-74. Retired in 1975 with over 31 years Navy and Air Force Duty, serving in the Navy, I was an Aviation Radioman and served in the Pacific during WWII

Tom was a TSgt with Detachment 1, 6994th Security Squadron at Nha Trang in 1966/67.

I must appologize to Tom, I know that sometime back I received more information on his tour but the good lord is the only one who knows where it is now. I will bet that he will resend a bit about his tour with the EC-47 Mission.

If I remember correctly, Tom retired as a CMSgt and served as CMSgt of USAF Security Service. I know and remember flying numerous times with him and it was always a great experience as he was thought by our crew, to be one of the best.

July 2, 2004. Tom adds this: He served as an Airborne Flight Commander and flew 121 missions. Departed Nha Trang in Sept, 1967 and was assigned to Hq. USAFSS/ESC. Made CMSGT in June, 1973.

After tour in Viet Nam, served in US, Europe, and Pacific. Retired from AF Space Command after serving 31 years, seven months and 29 days. Have remained in contact with several crew members/friends over the years. Of all my many assignments, I still consider our work in Viet Nam and the people assigned to be my most enjoyable and satisfying experience. When we lost our first EC-47, I was with the recovery team where we brought our people remains home. The back end people - Leftwich, Land and Reese.
