JC, Wanting to get my name on the crew members list. I was the 460TRW Chief Flight Engineer 1969 to 1970. That was Standboard at that time for 360, 361, 362 and Det#5 at NKP, also Base Flt C-47s, T-39 and MACV C-54. Before coming to Tan Son Nhut I was a Flt Examiner and Simular Instructor on C-141s and C-135s. Many of the Engineers we had in 69 and 70 were from C-141s C-133s, a few from C-124s. Bill Corbin

By chance, I found EC-47 website and it is very moved me to remember my unit before April 30, 1975. I am a former expert on EC-47

I am Pham Ngoc Son, a former soldier of RVAF. From 1973 up to April 30, 1975 I am on service at 17th Unit (7th Bureau of RVAF). I have the military mission as a Mission Supervisor (AMS) on EC-47 (my unit carry out combined operations with 718th squadron (33th Tactical Wing, 5th Air Force Division, camp at TSN Air Port). I had over 800 flight-hours on EC-47 as "Y" expert.

My directly commanding officer are Lieutenant-colonel Trinh Xuan Lang (Commander of 7th Bureau are Brigadier general Pham Huu Nhon)

Thanks to this website and the pictures that I reached, I remembered about my mission together with my same units and I fretted with obsessive memories of the past.

Bill says he was the NCOIC, Material Administration with the 6994th Security Squadron in 1967/68. Says, he had to shuffle the paperwork to get the parts and supplies to keep the rear end working and get a message off each morning at 07:00 to JCS on the status of the equipment.

I worked with Jim Hattendorf . I live at beautiful Lake Blue Ridge and invite anyone from Maintenace or Flight Crews on the EC47 to visit we have trout and lake fishing and I have plenty of room in my home.

Anthony says he was a Flight Mechanic with the 362nd Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron at Pleiku fro Nov. 1968 to Nov. 1969. Went from a cushy C-141 job to Pleiku and the Gooney Bird. I had some 3000 hours in the C-47 in the 1950's so it was no shock.

Jon says he was assigned to the 362nd Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron at Pleiku as a Navigator from Nov. 1967 to Oct. 1968.

Spent 29 yrs in USAF, 2nd SEA tour in F-4Ds in Linebacker 1972, 4 times a munitions squadron commander, and 4 yrs as a TAC DCM. Retired in ABQ in '85 and worked the aerospace and nuclear weapons industries for 15 years--am now a consultant. Am in touch with Benjo Welch, who retired at age 59 as the oldest active duty USAF pilot; with Don Funai, who flew the G5 for the Sec'y of Transportation and MacDonalds; and Roger Hartman (Pleiku '72) who flew the BUFF and tankers and is an engineer at samdia National Laboratories. Didn't make the 2002 reunion--will organize the Rat Patrol to serenade the next one, though. Where's Harry Rogers and Irv Szyzensky when you need them???
