Received from, Ray Abeyta.

I was an aircraft mechanic during my 18 month tour , and spent several TDY'S in Phu Bai.We would go up and spend several weeks at a time, working on our planes and just keeping them available for duty. For some reason I see lots of photos of the crews but not too many of the maintenance crew. I'm going to go through my photo albums and send some off to you,and maybe someone will recognize these old fellas.

Received from, Charles McShane, Vacaville, California

Charles called about the upcoming reunion, he had read the notice in one of the Air Force Publications. He will not be able to attend the reunion due to health conditions but wished everyone well.

Charles was assigned to the 361st Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron at Nha Trang. He arrived as a Major and made Lt. Col. and became Chief of Stan/Eval upon the departure of Lt. Col. Frank Hinkle, my Aircraft Commander.

He had a tale to tell about the TET Offensive. He said he was just leaving the shower wearing his shower shoes when the first rocket hit just across the street. He said believe it or not, you can burn rubber in a pair of shower shoes.

Charles does not have email or internet capibilities but his postal address is listed on the EC-47 Association Roster. (These are my comments.) I feel sure he would love to hear from some old friends from that era as his health keeps him pretty confined.

I was a rear ender (292) 6994SS, Det. 2 from November, 1969 to November, 1970. Received postcard from Richard Yeh re: 2002 reunion and just learned of your web site. Have been exploring the site with interest, and went back and dug out some old pictures made during my tour. Have several pictures of Danny Russell as we were stationed together while Det. 2 was located at both Pleiku and Da Nang. I remember very well the day that CAP 53 got shot down as well as the day Danny returned to duty. Have one picture of some historical interest which is of the advance group that went to Da Nang to prepare barracks, etc. when Det. 2 moved from Pleiku to Da Nang. Picture includes myself, Danny Russell, CMSgt. Kenneth Seals, our dog Duke, and several others whose names I cannot remember. Will continue to monitor the web site. Keep up the good work.

As I indicated when I signed the guest book, I was in the 362 TEWS at Pleiku '68-'69 and Det. 2 360 TEWS at NKP "69-'70. I shall make an effort to be in Dayton in May. My plans are not firm yet. I have some commitments that may need to be rescheduled. In any case I should like to stay in contact with the Association. Please add my name to You address book. Thank You putting in the effort to put up the web site.

Best Regards, Adam Moraczewski
