A Few Photos

Marv Ressmann

The above picture is of an accident on the flightline. 2 guys were changing a landing gear downlock actuator. The A/C was not on jacks. 1 of them pulled the LG pin to put a cotterkey in and the left landing gear collapsed, 1 guys upper body was in the gear and the other guys arm was in trapped. The first guys there tried to get them out by putting a wing jack under the prop shaft. The guy got his arm out and the jack slipped off the shaft. A bunch of us stood side by side and lifted the wing to get the other guy out, which we did.(got him out) Unfortunately he died and the other guy lost his arm.
Above: EC-47Q's on flightline at DaNang
The above three photos were taken at Ubon, I think in October, 1970. We had to evacuate DaNang because of a typhoon.
The two photos directly above, I think this was when they hit the fuel tanks near the main compound. If I remember right, it burned for about three days.
In the above two photos, I don't remember what the top one is, but I think the bottom one is when they hit the fuel tanks.
Dan Flores (on the left) Marv Ressmann ( on the right) I think the guy's name in the middle was Marty. He worked in Life Support. I do remember that he was a T.I. at Lackland prior to going to Viet Nam. Dan was a crew chief and I worked in phase dock.
John Wolleck at China Beach. John worked in the Phase Dock. His last name may be misspelled.
