Writing and Preserving the EC-47 History

You can be a part of it.

Another Book on the History of the aircraft, the mission and the
people. This is not limited to the Flight Crews, but includes
all maintenace units, supply, personal equipment, unit clerks,
anyone who was an active part of the Missions, whether flying,
or otherwise. We will even give the First Shirts a say in this.

If you were a Tech-Rep or a part of Sanders or other contractor
who made the modifications and did the testing and/or installation
of the special electronics required for the mission, you too were
an important part of this mission and should be included.

As some of you know, I have been working to put together another
and hopefully, a better book hoping to preserve the history of
which we were all a part.

I have been working on this second book for a few months now and
still have a long way to go. I am open to suggestions as well as
     your input to the project.

If you were a part of The EC-47 Mission, from the beginning, the
design, modifications, testing or equipment installation, from the
days of the Hawkeye Flights, to the end, day of the Last Missions
on May 15th, 1974 and beyond, you are a part of this history.

Because of the classification of this mission, there is very little
known and even less written about this important part of the history
of our country, only a vague word or two here and there.

This history will be forever lost, stored away in a dusty closet
if we do not do our best to preserve and publish it now for the
generations to come. We need to let the world know we were there,
what we did, the results, the effects and the memories.

Each item will be credited to the individual where possible, but
some information will be combined with other on the same subject
to cover general topics and may or may not be personally credited
to the individual but as a combined credit ie. Members of the xxx
     Squadron at xxx AB, Vietnam

Some Topics that come to mind might include, but not limited to:

Local (off base) Dining, Entertainment, Point of Interest, etc..

about putting it into words John?? All the details... You other
fellows who shared John's harrowing experience can tell your own
version of the event as well...

Folks, let's keep in clean, I will edit. This should reflect the
Character of each and everyone who was involved with the Mission.
There is no length limits, write it like you want it printed and
I will do my best to leave it as is. Don't rush, give you story
plenty of thought and time so as to be memorable, entertaining
     and complete.

Please, in the same document as your story, give you consent to
use your article/information as needed in the publication of this
book. It will save me a few headaches.

Help me to help you, and let us record the history in which we
all played an important part. If we don't do in soon, there will
be no-one around to do it later. Now is the time.

Please use Microsoft Word 2000 - - Lotus Word Pro 97 - - or Just
plain old DOS Text if you can, if not, use what you have. You can
also if you wish, send it as a regular E-mail which I can easily
save and cut and paste. For photos please use high resolution and
send via email as .JPG files
     to: [email protected] ...

Of course you can do it the old fashioned way and send it via the

     ADDED August 6th:

And as with the first book, I will be doing this out of my own
