My wife met a bomber crew member in 1942 who was listed as missing in action. Later, US newspapers showed him as a hero who was working with the French Resistance. His name was Sgt Willis (Bill) Spellman (or Spillman). Do you know of any way we could trace him? Have tried newspapers over the internet but to no avail. He was from Indiana.
