Cap-53 The Film?
Cap-53 Shot Down on April 22nd, 1970.
For the past several months, Danny Russell has been sort of keeping me abreast of a project by a young man, Chuck Lemon. Chuck is the son of one of ours, Captain Carl Lemon. Captain Lemon was the Navigator aboard Cap-53 when it was shot down over the Ashau Valley and who passed on in 1994. The son of Captain Lemon is going to produce a movie based around the shoot-down of Cap-53. Yesterday evening, (May 16th, 2008), I receveived a phone call from Danny Russell asking me if I could post a note on the Web-Site about this Film project. Chuck Lemon is going to be with us at our reunion in San Antonio to do in Danny's words, "A Ton of film footage and interviews etc.". He also ask me to ask anyone who might have any memoribilia, facts etc. of Cap-53, or who knew Carl Lemon and can provide information about him, to contact him, E-mail Him . Danny also told me that Larry Allen who was with the Acro Rifle Platoon, B Troop, 2.17th Cav. 101st Airborne and who was an active part of the rescue of the crew of Cap-53 will be joining us at the reunion and hopes to bring another member of the rescue team with him. You can view/read the history of Cap-53 and the log by the 101st of the rescue of the crew here: by clicking here.. See you in San Antonio, J.C.
