362nd TEWS 1966-68
Since mid 1966, we had been operating as Detachment 1, of the 361st Recon
Recon Squadron.
Official activation ceremonies were held on the ramp at Pleiku Air Base
at 16:30 hours on the 31st of January, 1967. Colonel Robert G. Williams
Commander of the 460th Tactical Recon Wing, Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Saigon,
Vietnam, was the proud parent. He and Colonel D.J. Nelson Wing Operations
Officer, helped with the delivery, and after due labor, by mustering the
entire compliment of personnel, both Officers and Airmen, Lt. Colonel Jack
Crook accepted the new Squadron pennant and colors.
