Hi J.C. In answer to your question, those slender vertical lights were just the lights on the base and I took the picture with the available light, and a real slow shutter speed. Could also have been because we were all nervous too. As I understand it there were 12 Viet Cong killed on that sapper attack on the perimeter of the base there at Pleiku. I had that noted on my slide.

We used to have 122mm rocket attacks every other night and numerous sappers trying to get in on the base most of the time. We lost one aircraft in the revetment by a 122mm rocket while I was there with a direct hit on the MD-3 Power Unit sitting out front of the aircraft. I think you may have a photo of that aircraft on the website.
