EC-47 Association Minutes, First Meeting

"Minutes from the first EC-47 Assoc. Reunion"

Date: 5/30/99 Place: San Antonio, TX Time: 3pm

The organizational meeting began with a brief intro by JC as to the
Phyllis Ann video that will be shown. The video lasted approx. 10
minutes.

At bout 3:15pm, order was called by JC Wheeler and he thanked all
that helped in putting together this reunion of the EC47 members,
especially Ernie Short, Bill Watters, and Al Buddington, on such
as short notice it all came together.

In attendance were about 75 of the registrants. JC called the first
order of the day to select an official name for our group. A motion
for "EC-47 Association" was quickly seconded and passed by all.

Ernie Short made a most note-worthy comment that this "association"
should be mission oriented which means to include all those who helped
make the missions possible, not just the front & back end crews. Also
he indicated for us to avoid major holidays as costs go up and room
availabilty is tight. There were no objections.

Second order of the day was to decide if and when we want to hold
a second reunion. All agreed to have another reunion and the year
2000 was decided upon. The exact month will be deicded by the
association officers, but most likely to be held again in San Antonio
and probably in the fall. Third order of the day was to elect
officers. A nominating committee headed by Dave Brooks announced
the selections for officers:

President J.C. Wheeler 360th & 361st TEWS
Treasurer Jim Trozzo 6994th TSN & Det. 2
First Vice President Gordon Bassett 362nd TEWS
Second Vice Pres. Dave Eddy 360th TEWS
Recording Secretary Doug Milton 6994th Det. 1 & Det. 2

Additionally, a committee was formed to recruit others who served
with the EC47 mission. Their responsibity is to make the "Reunion
2000" attendance larger.

Those nominated are: representing the 6994th Al Buddington
representing the 362 TEWS Roger Hartman
representing the 361st TEWS Dave Brooks
representing the 360th TEWS (need a volunteer)

To help in getting the word out, the Association will try to advertise
in thevarious newsletters out there for veterans and also on other web
sites.
