My hobbies consist of Ham Radio, Writing and Bass Fishing, the latter of which I now do very little. I do enjoy writing short articles etc. see Writings and Ramblings, and have written quite a number for Amateur Radio Newsletters. I also produced and wrote most of the material for a twelve page newsletter, The Oazrks 285. For this newsletter, I was given an Excellence Award by the Amateur Radio News Service in 1996.
I have been an amateur radio operator for about 9 years and hold an Extra Class license. I enjoy home brewing ham radio equipment and accessories. Some work and some of them, I let the smoke out of them and they fail to work. I also enjoy the 75 and 17 meter bands. My Ham Station consists of a Ten Tec Paragon High Frequency transceiver, a Ten Tec Argosy II High Frequency transceiver for low power, (QRP) operation. Also included is a Henry 2K-3 HF amplifier, a Kenwood TS 700SP 2-Meter, (VHF) transceiver.
My newest hobbie is the one I am practicing at the present time, creating and maintaing my personal home page for publication on the Internet. I really enjoy this and am constantly either redoing or updating my site. This is a complete reconstruction of my site. |
