I arrived at the 361 at Nha Trang in Sept 66 before the squadron received any electric coons , and was assiged to the air commando C-47 bull shit bombers for a couple of months. Then back over to the 361 when we got our first aircraft. I had flown on and crewed many of the aircraft that we received while I was stationed at Maxwell AFB from 64-66. I was on the first EC-47 flying out of Nha Trang to receive battle damage some time in I believe Nov 66 just small arms fire but it got our attention plus a lot of staff cars showed up to meet us when we landed. I volunteered to go to Pleiku and the new 362 in dec 66. it was quite a change from Nha Trang. I forgot to mention I was a A1c/2 striper flight mechanic when i arrived. Prentice Fay Brenton who later was killed in the crash in March 67 gave me my in country check ride. I ended up staying for 26 yrs and retired in 1990 as a CMSGT after flying coonys, T-29s, C-118s, EC121s, and my last 12 years on C-5s. would like to hear from any of the guys from either Nha Trang or Pleiku who remember me. About once every year I look at the year book that we all had made and wonder what happened to every one. it was a long year. good luck
