Retirement
Now in retirement and living in the small community of Buckville, on lake Ouchita, near Hot Springs, Arkansas.  We were out in the country, plenty of fresh air and on a big peninsula and could hear boats in almost every direction.  I worked for the Garland County Sheriffs Office as a Deputy, and concurrently, with the Hot Springs Village Police Department under Sheriff Leon Barlow and Chief Don Wooten. We lived here until the spring of 1977 when we decided to move back to our hometown of Clarksville, Arkansas.

Back in Clarksville, and being somewhat independent, I worked for a while at various things.  I owned and operated a Small Engine Shop for two years, selling it in 1981.  I worked for the Secretary of States Office as a Computer Programmer/Analyst for about 16 months, May 1985 to October 1986.  I suffered a heart attack in October, resigned and retruned to Clarksville.

Back in Clarksville, I did some substitute teaching for a while during recovery.  I then tried my hand at driving a truck cross country.  About six months of this was enough for me.  I did continue driving, hauling lumber and lumber products, (hardwood pallets), within the state of Arkansas for six years.   July 1993,  I went into full retirement and boy am I enjoying it.
